BOURBON teams shine at the Hydro’s Cup

This year once again, BOURBON has been present beside the students of the “Ecole Nationale de la Marine Marchande” the National Merchant Marine School in Marseilles for the 13th edition of the Hydro’s Cup, a regatta that they organise each year with a master’s touch...
This commitment is shown by the presence of 4 BOURBON yachts, among the 42 yachts at the start: those of Christian Lefèvre, Managing Director of BOURBON, Thierry Buzulier, Human Resources Director, and Yves Rastoin, Abeilles Managing Director, then a yacht entirely composed of ENMM students, and sponsored by BOURBON.

Open to lovers of the sea, students and professionals in the maritime world, this friendly sporting adventure took place on the week end of the 8 and 9 April in the South roadstead of the city of Marseille, giving everyone an opportunity to meet, share their enthusiasm, and discover the skills related to maritime activities. For this new edition, the organisers of the regatta chose to support the 4,500 volunteers of the “Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer”, the national lifeboat society, who save more than 10,000 people per year, by paying them the funds collected for the event.

BOURBON takes the leading places!

At the end of these 2 magnificent days, BOURBON were hauled to the top of the podium with the 45e Nord belonging to Thierry Buzulier, then in 3rd and 4the places, the Arundo of Christian Lefèvre and Yves Rastoin’s yacht, closely followed by the ENMM student team. The 2nd place was taken by Jean-Christophe Calicchio, with his CRPC, the Caisse d’Epargne boat.

The best conditions of wind, sun and a good sea had combined to guarantee complete sucess for this regata. The BOURBON employees present on la Flâneuse, an old sloop, had the best boxes for the race.
The 13th edition of the Hydro’s Cup closed with a trophy presentation evening, on the evening of Sunday 9 April, which took place at the “Société Nautique des Canotiers Marseillais”, the Marseille Boatman’s Company in a festive mood.
