Every day, BOURBON’s vessels have to adapt to an ever-changing and delicate environment: the oceans and, in particular, the coastal regions of the world. The choice of which type of vessel to operate, the procedures implemented for each and every operation, highly-trained and responsive crews and land-based services all play a part in minimising the impact on the environment.
BOURBON is highly committed to protecting the environment in strict accordance with international standards and keeps close supervision over all its daily working practices, integrating the following:
ISO (International System Organization) 9001 standard, version 2001: certified by the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, this standard covers the legal framework governing relations between the customer and supplier with a view to ensuring control over the provision of services contracted.In practice, this determined approach is reflected in the routine application of the fundamental principles set out in BOURBON’s sustainable development policy (reducing nitrogen oxide emissions, preventing pollution, etc.).
BOURBON has signed the Armateurs de France Blue Charter, the Charter founded by the French Shipowners’ association in June 2003 on an initiative of Philippe Louis-Dreyfus. By signing this charter, marine transportation and services operators commit to a proactive approach to promote a vision and action to encourage maritime safety and environmental protection.
