Setaf-Saget’s partners are constantly seeking alternative transport solutions. For every coastal vessel with a deadweight of 2,000 metric tonnes that makes a trip between two European ports, there will be 100 fewer trucks on the roads. Run by responsible professionals, marine transportation is reliable, more fuel efficient and more environmentally-friendly, at every stage in the process: loading, unloading, tank cleaning, etc...
A far removed from the traditional image people often have of bulk carriers, the vessels operated by Setaf-Saget are extremely modern, reliable and recent in their construction. The average age of the managed fleet is 3 years. The super handymax carriers (average age: 2 years) have been designed to comply with current and future standards on safety and the environment :
- emissions of nitrogen oxide and sulphur oxide from engines are lower than the levels required under international standards,
- waste products, depending on their nature, are disposed of using specially-adapted incinerators in ports,
- the paints used for the hull comply with the latest regulations and are the least polluant for the marine environment.
Our employees, on land and at sea alike, are fully aware of their responsibilities as far as concerns of human safety and the sustainability of the equipment entrusted to them.
