With nearly 194 vessels on order, increasingly sophisticated technologies, and tougher operation and safety standards, BOURBON is planning to recruit 5,000 new employees by 2012. Thus, BOURBON faces a major challenge in employee recruitment, training, and retention.
This is one of the components of BOURBON’s Horizon 2012 strategy, which is designed to guarantee its customers worldwide services of the highest quality.
BOURBON has made a commitment to ensure that all its employees comply with the operational, quality and safety standards defined by the group for the entire fleet.
As a result, BOURBON has set up clear training programs common to all group employees. These programs cover all the skills required to execute operations in dynamic positioning, mechanics, anchor handling, crane operation and more.
For this reason, BOURBON is deploying major resources to train its new employees to ensure they adopt both the group’s values and its operational and safety standards.
BOURBON has initiated an information feedback process in each of the areas where the group operates. This process identifies training needs on the basis of specific criteria. Then, a customized program is developed for each employee.
Thus, BOURBON employees benefit on a regular basis from continuing training programs, so that they remain at the top of their professions and can develop in their jobs, duties and missions.
