Maintenance
Pooling support for BOURBON's fleet locally around the concept of a BOURBON Repair Center means that all shipmanagers have access to onshore technical engineers and spare parts inventories near their operating area. Eight BOURBON Repair Centers have been created close to the operating areas.
Their inventories are primarily composed of critical operating equipment (engines, alternators, thrusters, etc.) and common spare parts that can be used for breakdowns or periodic overhauls. At the same time, the Group uses standard exchange on a regular basis, a practice which helps cut the periods of time when vessels are out of action.
Another aspect of this maintenance policy is the use of repair shipyards near the operating regions, which reduces the vessels' travel times to yards. BOURBON is forging deals with local shipyards which guarantee it priority treatment in return for the volume of work provided.
