Jacques de Chateauvieux
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Jacques de Chateauvieux graduated from the Paris Institut Supérieur de Gestion in 1972. He also gained an MBA from the University of Columbia in New York in 1974.
Jacques de Chateauvieux (1951) began his career as a Management Controller for the Union des Transports Aériens (U.T.A) in Paris from 1975 to 1977. For the next 3 years he was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Paris, a corporate strategy and management consultancy.
In 1979, when he was 28, he became Chairman of the Réunion-based BOURBON Group with the intention of developing the sugar industry in La Réunion. Over the years, Jacques de Chateauvieux transformed the Group into a listed conglomerate and successfully positioned it initially as a major player in distribution and then in marine services on an international scale.
From 2001, he led the gradual re-centering from the Group’s historic activities to marine services. By June 2005, the Group was totally focused on marine services and became BOURBON.
After BOURBON had disengaged from its port towage activities in 2007, Jacques de Chateauvieux announced a new strategic plan in 2008, which is aimed at international leadership of modern offshore oil and gas marine services by 2012.
Christian Lefèvre
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Christian Lefèvre graduated from the National Merchant Navy School in 1984 and earned his Captain 1st class certification in Marine Navigation in 1988.
He began his career with BOURBON as an officer, then serving as Chief engineer and Offshore Vessel Captain for Bourbon Offshore Surf, before becoming Head of agencies in Gabon and then in Cameroon. Subsequently, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer for Bourbon Offshore Surf from 1990 to 1995, then Deputy CEO Bourbon Offshore Surf from 1996 to 2001.
In the context of BOURBON's efforts to refocus on marine services in 2001, Christian Lefèvre became BOURBON Deputy CEO of the Offshore Division.
Since December 2006, he has also been a member of the BOURBON Executive Committee as BOURBON Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Laurent Renard
Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer
Laurent Renard graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris in 1975. He began his career with the Royal Dutch Shell International group, where he held various positions during his 24 years with the group. After a number of assignments in Africa, France and the Netherlands, Laurent Renard served as Chief Financial Officer of Oman LNG (Sultanate of Oman) from 1993 to 1996, then as Chief Financial Officer for Shell UK Downstream in London from 1996 to 1997, before becoming Chief Financial Officer of Exploration-Production for Shell International in The Hague from 1997 to 2000.
In 2000, Laurent Renard joined Technip-Coflexip, where he created the internal audit department before joining BOURBON in mid-2003 in the position of Chief Financial Officer of the marine services branch.
Since December 2005, Laurent Renard has served as BOURBON Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer.
