Bourbon Liberty Series
On the continental offshore market, many of the existing fleets of vessels are old and technically obsolete: in 2011, of the existing fleet of offshore continental vessels, around 700 Supply vessels were over 25 years old.
Based on this analysis, BOURBON decided to invest in an extensive range of new-generation vessels: the Bourbon Liberty 100 (PSV) and 200 (AHTS) series, supplemented by the new Bourbon Liberty 150 (PSV) and 300 (AHTS).
Designed by Guido Perla and Associates, and tailored to BOURBON specifications, these vessels reap the benefit of BOURBON's long experience in deepwater offshore and are a real “revolution” on the continental offshore market:
- 20 to 30% less monthly fuel consumption
- Redundant propulsion equipments to optimize availability
- Exceptional maneuverability to carry out operations safely with a more reliable vessel
- +30 % Greater Cargo capacity
20 to 30% less monthly fuel consumption
All the Bourbon Liberty have a Diesel-Electric Propulsion system. This propulsion system reducing fuel consumption and CO2 reject by 20-30%.
For example, the Bourbon Liberty 100 consumes nearly 165 tons LESS fuel per month than traditional offshore support vessel of equivalent power.
Redundant propulsion equipments to optimize availability
The Bourbon Liberty vessels are equipped with two azimuth and one fixed stern thrusters and two bow thrusters. These 5 thrusters are powered by 3 diesel generators.
The Diesel-Electric Propulsion and the redundancy of three generators and three thrusters ease maintenance of main system components and is also a safety factor.
Exceptional maneuverability to carry out operations safely with a more reliable vessel
The three stern thrusters (two azimuth thrusters and one fixed thruster) and the two bow thrusters allow exceptional manoeuvrability and station keeping capabilities.
With The DP II system, the Bourbon Liberty is able to maintain precise position and come safely alongside rigs or platforms to offload cargo or for anchor handling operations.
+30 % Greater Cargo capacity
The engines' position on the main deck increases the cargo space available in the hull of the Bourbon Liberty vessels. But they are not the only innovations on the cargo capacity. Indeed, The oval design of the tanks coupled with the faster and automated cleaning system, enables the loading to be optimized and the transfer operations speeded up.
Priorities
Listening to and satisfying clients is the daily challenge for BOURBON’s women and men. It relies on 4 priorities:
BOURBON 2015 Strategy
BOURBON’s new strategic plan for 2015 continues a voluntary growth policy. Its purpose: making the Group the world leader in offshore oil and gas marine services.
