Customer satisfaction, a commitment for BOURBON.

In its desire to satisfy its customers at all times, to make constant improvements and to generate lasting growth, BOURBON is committed to Quality in its activities and in the key areas of Reliability, Cost Control, Integrity and Innovation.

1/ Objectives of the BOURBON quality policy:

  • Making sure best practices and standards are honored in all its activities.
  • Complying with all applicable provisions in accordance with domestic and international regulations.
  • Maintaining its commitment to the principles of honesty, fairness and integrity by conducting all its business in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Making the safety of its employees, vessels, cargo and the environment a top priority.
  • Satisfying or surpassing customer expectations with regard to its contractual and operational services.
  • Improving the quality of its operations by aiming for a constant increase in the level of skills of its employees.
  • Achieving its goal of continuous improvement by implementing the Plan-Do-Check-Act method.
  • Demonstrating management's QHSE commitment by organizing tours of the bases and on board vessels for top executives.
  • Extending ISO 9000:2000 Quality Standard certification to all subsidiaries responsible for "vessel management."

2/ Methods used

  • Analysis of customer needs
    By observing and managing the feedback and demands of customers, BOURBON aims to satisfy them and even surpass their expectations.
  • Analysis of trends, underlying causes and reference performances in all operating units
  • Introduction of a standard operational methodology and qualitative management practices at ALL levels of the organization
    When associated activities and resources are organized within a procedure, it is easier to achieve the desired results efficiently.
  • Ongoing training and work environment
    BOURBON intends to continue its on-the-job training projects over the long term and to promote a healthy and stimulating work environment conducive to professional accomplishments and team work.

 

Quality certification

Several of BOURBON's subsidiaries are ISO 9001 version 2000 certified. This standard covers the contractual framework of the relationship between a customer and a supplier to ensure mastery of the service expected.

An action plan has been introduced so that 100% of BOURBON's subsidiaries can receive this certification.

 

Careers in the offing

I am Corporate Quality Director, reporting to the Group’s QHSE Vice President. I wear two hats in this role: I am responsible for quality audit and continuous improvement processes for the Offshore Division, and in charge of the documentation management system at Group level. I develop processes for QHSE audits and I am in charge of its operational management worldwide. (…)
My second role concerns the entire Group and all its business lines, onshore and offshore, functional and operational: my role is to oversee the running of the Quality Management System (QMS) which incorporates various management systems, including Quality, Safety, Health, Environment and Security etc. To this end, we are developing a methodology and quality audits to ensure that all the Group functions can communicate effectively by interchanging standardized information. For me, quality has to be customer-focused. Having worked in the oil industry, I am well placed to know what the customer wants. But this notion of customer does not only concern the external customer who signs the contracts: the company is a chain of functions, in which everyone relies on the results of another person's work.
